We take pride in the creativity and support of our design engineers and fabricators. We are one of the few acrylic laboratory suppliers that will work with you to create new items tailored to your specific needs. If possible we will even work with you on-site. Following are some quotes from our customers. "R. Shadel provides custom combs and spacers of the finest materials and craftsmanship with excellent turn around times. Very few companies provide the level of quality and workmanship that is as high as that of R.Shadel's custom service department. If you need any custom work done, choose R.Shadel for quality, accuracy, and excellent turn around times." David Van Den Berg, postdoctoral fellow, Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Beckman Center for Molecular and Genetic Medicine, Stanford University Medical Center, Stanford, CA. |

"Our laboratory has purchased electrophoresis equipment from R. Shadel Inc. for the last 10 years. In addition, they have supplied us with many custom fixtures during this period. Their services are of outstanding quality. I would recommend them highly to other laboratories seeking help with prototype design and fabrication." Brian D. Warner, Instrument Coordinator, Research Senior Scientist, Nucleic Acid Systems, Chiron Corporation, Emeryville, CA "I have worked with R. Shadel for 15 years during which I have had many pieces of apparatus fabricated. I have been very pleased with the ingenuity of the design, the workmanship, and the durability of the product." Professor Mark Kirschner, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA. |

How to Order Custom Work To order, simply explain the function of the apparatus you would like us to design and fabricate. Be brief but as explicit as possible. Draw out a version of the desired apparatus showing at least two views - a top view and a side view. Label each view with the desired dimensions. Remember to indicate hinges, knobs, or other special features. See the custom work order form and example for more information. The forms are posted at the following links for you to download, fill out, and fax back to us. Although acrylic is our business, we will also fabricate in wood, aluminum, steel, lead, and other materials. Here is a sample of what we can do: Customize any of our own products Customize competitors' products Start with inexpensive existing products to create new designs Build storage units for freezers, hoods, and odd sized spaces Make columns for gel filtration Design and fabricate protective covers for expensive equipment Create special shielding for various radiation safety needs Build workstations for PCR or other uses where contamination is a concern |
